Ghanaian singer and songwriter Wendy Shay has been involved in a near-fatal car accident on the Kwabenya highway in Accra on Sunday, September 10, 2023. The award-winning musician was driving her Jeep Wrangler with a customized registration plate 'Shay' when she encountered a tipper truck loaded with sand coming from the opposite direction. Shay tried to avoid the truck, but her car veered off the road and crashed into a gutter.


According to an eyewitness who spoke to UTV, Shay was in severe pain in the head after hitting her head on the dashboard. She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment after securing her valuables in the wrecked car. The eyewitness said that Shay was fine, but she needed some rest and recovery.


The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but some reports suggest that the tipper truck driver was speeding and lost control of his vehicle. The police have not yet confirmed or denied these allegations.
